Sonya C. Baptiste - MSc, AIAF
Sonya C. Baptiste currently serves as the Acting Chief Financial Officer of State Insurance Company Limited, with a distinguished career spanning over 26 years in finance and accounting across the insurance, banking, consulting, and retail sectors.
Her expertise includes strategic financial oversight, audit and risk governance, and regulatory compliance. Prior to her current role, Sonya served as Director of Audit and Risk in the banking sector and held an eight-year tenure as Senior Accountant at SICL.
She holds a Master of Science in Finance from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She holds an Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) and multiple certifications from the Caribbean Governance Training Institute, including the Chartered Director designation.
Sonya is also an active committee member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), contributing to the development of regional financial best practices.
